Hidden conversations will be saved in the folder called “Protected Conversations”.

The new feature also hides the content of such a conversation from appearing in notifications.

Account theft feature

Another measure to avoid scams was also created and announced this year by the application.

When you want to transfer an account to another device, the application now asks the user to authorize this migration on the old cell phone.

This is especially useful to avoid scams and account theft. Therefore, when there is no user authorization, the transfer action is blocked.

• The WhatsApp application sends a notification to the old cell phone for the user to authorize account migration;
• The notification also sends important information, such as the model of the new cell phone to which the account will be transferred;
• It is also informed that the account must be removed from the old cell phone after the transfer has been made.

With this, it is expected that cases of account theft will decrease and it will become easier for the user to block the action.

It is still very useful in situations where the user has shared, for some reason, the application's verification code with third parties.

What if your cell phone is stolen?

If your cell phone is stolen or stolen, it will still be possible to recover your account by requesting a second, one-time password.

The measure is also valid for devices that have been damaged, lost or in any other situation that means the user cannot access the device.
