The exceptions that are presented in the notice, of people who cannot participate in the auction, are: individuals who are public servants assigned to the Detran itself, the Civil Police and the Military Police of each state; outsourced and contracted by Detran SP, the Civil and Military Police of each state.
Always read the auction notice carefully, as some rules may be changed. The Detran auction takes place in both in-person and online formats.
How does the Detran Auction work?
The Detran auction is like any other traditional auction ; whoever makes the highest bid wins the vehicle.
The vehicles at the Detran Auction are used and come from seizures due to irregularities, so their conditions may vary.
It is possible to acquire a car or motorcycle at auction to resell it or for personal use. After purchasing it at auction, it is possible to sell it, but keep in mind that all vehicles are sold below the FIPE Table price.
Detran, at the time of the auction, provides a list of cars and motorcycles for sale, the lots and their details, such as documentation and mechanical conditions of the vehicles.
How is payment made for the Detran Auction?
All vehicles, cars or motorcycles, offered at the Detran Auction require payment in cash only.
In the case of an in-person auction, the participant must leave a check for the total value of the auctioned item with the auction commission.
And in the online modality, at the time of registration, the participant signs a contract and is subject to the penalties established in Law No. 8666/92.
Then, after the auction, the Commission will issue a bank slip with the total sale amount, which will be given to the winning bidder, who will have a period of 5 (five) business days to make the payment.
The winning bidder receives a provisional receipt valid until the date the Sales Invoice is issued.
