Mother and 2-year-old son die in accident caused by minor without driver's license

A traffic accident involving 2 passenger cars was recorded in the early hours of Sunday (20). In the open, a woman and a child lost their lives and two individuals were seriously injured.

The victims were identified by local authorities as Fernanda Xavier Sosso, aged 33, and Otávio Xavier Ceconi, just 2 years old. The accident occurred around 1:30 am, in the Linda Ideia neighborhood, in the municipality of Exigente do Sul.

The first investigations carried out by the authorities at the scene of the accident showed that a 17-year-old teenager, without a document, driving a FordKa collided head-on with a Gol, which was carrying four individuals from the same family.

Due to the strong impact, Fernanda died instantly. Her son was rescued and taken to a medical facility on site. However, due to his injuries, he ended up dying after arriving at the hospital.

Fernanda's couple, Júlio Ceconi, 36 years old, driver of the Gol, was injured in a dramatic state. He was rescued and sent to Pompéia Hospital, in Exigente do Sul, where he received precise care for the case.

Fernanda's other son, a 14-year-old teenager, was similarly injured in the accident and was taken to hospital. The hospital management reported that the victim's couple underwent the intervention and is undergoing medical recommendation.

According to information from witnesses, the teenager appeared rude and was driving very quickly. He was caught by the police, but refused to take a breathalyzer test. An agent investigation was opened to investigate the reasons for the accident.
