A child of just 3 years old was beaten to death in Brega Este de São Paulo. The body was buried this Wednesday (20), and the mother and stepfather were preventively arrested to investigate the case.

The stepfather's name is Ewerton Queirós Laurenço, and he is 30 years old. The child's mother is called Isadora Pereira de Souza, and is 20 years old. The child, whose name was Micaelly Luiza de Souza Santos, was taken dead to Esplanada Hospital. Subsequently, the couple was taken to the 22nd Agent District of São Miguel.

According to police, the couple claims they did not take anything from the child. Micaelly's brother, José Simão, said he did not know that his daughter was being mistreated. According to him, by the time he heard news about his daughter, she was already dead.

The paternal grandmother, Maria José Francisca dos Santos, raised the child for a few months and even gained temporary custody of her granddaughter. According to the explanation website G1, the child had a history of aggression from his mother and stepfather, so the guardianship suggestion wanted the child to stay with his grandmother.

Micalelly had already been hospitalized earlier this month with suspected beating. Some photos published by the Barga TELEVISÃO website show that the child had bruises on the front. According to the director of the Tíde Setúbal hospital, Carlos Alberto Velucci, she similarly had bruises on her face, chest and paws, and had no pathologies.

The hospital contacted the police and suggested guardianship. The child was hospitalized from the 5th until the 18th of November. Then, she should have stayed with her grandmother, but she went home with her mother and stepfather. The police reported that, within just 24 hours, the child was beaten to death and with great possibility that he had suffered exaggeration.
