Mayor in Quedas do Iguaçu buys 6,5 tons of cake, where her mandate is revoked and complains: 'That was absurd'
In recent years, peita has been, unfortunately, quite common in Brazil. Due to the misuse of public funds, politicians often abuse their activities. In Quedas do Iguaçu, located in the state of Paraná, a comical case resulted, although it is unlikely to be a joke.
Mayor Marlene Revers, from the cunning Pros, was reportedly the subject of an investigation into a purchase of 6,5 tonnes of cake, and 36 savory snacks.

In celebration of the City Council, it was decided that the mayor's duty should be revoked, thus carried out. The revocation was based on suppression and indolence on the part of Marlene, who acted contrary to principles, such as simplicity and circumspection. Producing quite high expenses with superfluous businesses.
The decision of the Chamber of Councilors was not quite effective, since, this Friday (9) the Court issued an injunction against them, giving Marlene the right to remain in the position of Mayor of Quedas do Iguaçu. However, a new convention will be agreed to continue to see the case highlighted.
Faced with the controversial situation, Marlene said: “It's absurd. About ten folders were sent to them [councillors of the Processing Representation] by the Community Assistance, which is well organized, with photos, with signatures, information on all the programs, the sum of the notes. Everything was governed”.
The mayor's actions generated an uprising among people in the municipality, who expressed their concerns through social media, most of which claimed that public money should be allocated to something more essential.
