Save your photos before they erase
Save your photos before they are deleted from Google's discontinued service, which should occur after July 2023.
One such service that will cease to exist is the Album Archive, a directory that stores all the images that users use through the company's services.
Therefore, to name some files found in this service, we have:
- Profile pictures;
- Blogger Media;
- Hangouts attachments;
- And several others.
discontinuation of service
It has been announced that as of July 19, 2023, the Google Album Archive will cease to exist.
Therefore, it is important that users save their images on this service before definitive deletion.
The company Google sent several emails to users with this information, in addition to instructing them to save what they want before this deadline.
To download all media from the Album Archive, the user must access the Google Takeout.
Other ways to save content
It is still possible for the user to use other means to save their media, accessing each service individually, such as:
- Blogger: has the published images;
- google account: has profile photos;
- Google Photos: has photo albums;
- Hangouts: Has attachments sent by Hangouts.
We remind you that Hangouts has already been replaced by Chat, so the user will be able to find some media through the new service.
The Google Album Archive also stores images that are used by the user to customize Gmail themes.
We emphasize that Google Photos will not be discontinued, nor will photos on this service be deleted.
It's really just the Album Archive service, which was linked to Picasa.
